Limpopo Baobabs all set for the netball league

Rahab Ngobeni is one of the senior players who will use her experience to strengthen the team during the Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League.

POLOKWANE –  Unlike last season, the matches will be played in three various cities this season.

Starting on 8 April, Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Durban will host the eight-week tournament which features 10 teams from across the country.

The Baobabs team consists of 17 talented players, and some of these players formed part of the national netball team that represented the country in various tournaments around the world.

Baobabs head coach, Cecilia Molekwane, says the team is well balanced and ready to test their mettle against the other teams.

“We started with our preparations long before the tournament, and I am confident the team will make the province proud. Last year, we didn’t make it to the quarter-finals, but I am confident this year will be our year to shine,” says Molekwane.

She further says the league will not be a walk in the park as they will compete in the A-league this year. The Baobabs have played in the B-league for the past two years, but will now get the opportunity to face off against stronger teams as there is only one division this year.
