According to provincial Hawks’ spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke, between 2009 and 2010, ABSA bank mistakenly transferred R7 million rand into Gregan’s law firm’s bank account.

“The bank requested him to return the money but he refused and it resulted in the theft case being pursued by Attorney Fidelity Fund against him. Gregan was arrested on 29 May 2015 by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit and he was granted R15 000 bail until he was convicted and sentenced,” he explained.

“We will not cease to fight all forms of crime including fraud and corruption until we come out victorious,” Major General Thobeka Jozi concluded.
