3 dead in Nyl Plaza accident

LIMPOPO –  The N1 is now open – report.


LIMPOPO – According to spokesperson for the Department of Health, Thabiso Teffo, three people have died in an accident involving a car, two trucks and a taxi.

The accident occurred a kilometer away from the Nyl Plaza on the N1.

According to Teffo, the accident left one person critical, five seriously injured and three with minor injuries.

Spokesperson for the Department of Health, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala says traffic is at a standstill and the road is temporarily closed.

“It will take between 30 minutes to an hour to clear the scene, motorists are advised to exercise patience,” he said.

Motorists traveling South to North are urged to use the Mookgophong off ramp onto the R101.

Those travelling from Mokopane and Polokwane are to use the R101.


The N1 between Tobias and Nyl Plaza has been temporarily closed. Motorists traveling South to North are urged to use the Mookgophong off ramp onto the R101.

Reports of a a fatal accident in the area have been made by the Department of Transport. Make way for traffic officials and emergency services.
