Duo’s musical attraction sets them on path to greatness

MANKWENG – The two students from Nobody and Paledi Ga-Thoka met each other and formed their band by a stroke of fate.

Miss Dee began singing this year after she heard Kabelo play his guitar and she fell in love with it. She is the songwriter and vocalist of the band while Kabelo takes care of the music aspect.

Miss Dee’s inspiration for her songs come from past experiences while Kabelo’s love and interest for playing the guitar stems from the likes of James Blunt and Ed Sheeran.

“I started playing guitar last year and immediately fell in love with the instrument,” Kabelo, who enjoys building guitars and coming up with creative ideas for their band, explained.

The talented duo said they aim to grow and develop in the music industry and although they only perform at events around Mankweng, they are eager to aim higher, but they do not want their studies to be on the back-burner. Miss Dee is studying communication sciences at the University of Limpopo while Kabelo is studying computer science at the same university.

Miss Dee volunteers at Radio Turf and hopes to explore her interest in the media industry further as soon as a position becomes available.
