Sixth person dies after accident in Tubatse outside Burgersfort

LIMPOPO – Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the sixth person, who was a passenger in the combi, passed away late on Saturday night.

“The deceased was identified as Tshepo Ntuku (22), from Penge,” Ngoepe said.

The five deceased who passed during this accident, were identified as follows:
– Thabo Mphogo (25)
– Thabang Lephoto (23)
– Mmapeu Lepoto (23)
– Puseletso Lesiga (22)
– Mokgotho Kabelo (23)

“All five of the deceased are all from Penge outside Burgersfort.

LIMPOPO – According to police, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a taxi and a Suzuki collided head on along the Penge road next to the Annesley Mine.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the taxi was travelling from Burgersfort towards Penge and the Suzuki was travelling in the opposite direction.

“All five people in the Suzuki were instantly killed and the passengers in the taxi were taken to the Dilokong hospital with serious injuries,” Ngoepe explained.

The cause of this accident is unknown but police say they are investigating.
