Miss Dikgale 2017 crowned

POLOKWANE – Dikgale Development Youth Group (DDYG) have embarked on a series of projects, their most recent being the 3rd annual Miss Dikgale Pageant.

Olympic gold medalist Castor Semenya and actor Clement Moosa were honorary guests at the event, which took place on Saturday, 15 April at Nkuke Community Hall in Ga-Dikgale.

Of the 12 participants, Pearl Malema, Kholofelo Dikgale, Regina Mabokachaba, Tumelo Masekwameng and Lydia Mokgopo made it to the Top 5 after impressing the judges.

After a short deliberation, Tumelo Masekwameng was crowned 2nd princess, Regina Mabokachaba earned the title of 1st princess with Lydia Mokgopo named as Miss Dikgale 2017.

Mathapelo Lediga (1st princess 2016), Suzan Mokgopo (2nd princess 2016) and Masechaba Matjebe (Miss Dikgale 2016) had the honour of crowning their successors.

The MC, Daniel Lediga, was a maestro with the mic and kept the crowd entertained. The funds raised through the event, which includes the R40 entry fee, will be used to uplift those less fortunate in the area.
