Wiers murder case postponed

POLOKWANE – The accused in the Tanya Wiers (44) murder case, Frans Maela, reappeared before the Polokwane Magistrates court today, Thursday, 16 February.

Court proceedings were disrupted due to an emotional outburst and court officials had to calm the public down.

The DA as well as the National Conservative Party had members outside waiting on the outcome of the hearing and residents seeking justice for Wiers were also present.

The accused applied for legal aid and the case was postponed to 21 February.

DA Limpopo Leader, Jacques Smalle had the following to say on the outcome of Maela’s court appearance.
