Couple tied up during robbery on Letsitele farm

LIMPOPO – The police are searching for two knife-wielding suspects who attacked a couple and robbed them of a firearm and other valuables in the early hours of this morning.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says the incident took place at 02:30 at Darina Farm in the Letsitele area.

“Jacobus Nell (52) and his wife were awoken by two unknown men wearing balaclavas. They forced the window open, confronted the couple, threatened them with knives and demanded money. They then tied them with ropes, took several valuable items and fled the scene,” Mojapelo explained.

He says the following items were stolen:

• One Hunting rifle with 3 rounds.
• Two Cellphones
• One Dvd player.
• One TV set.

Mojapelo says the victims were not injured.

“A charge of negligent possession of a firearm will be opened against the victim for keeping a firearm in contravention of the Firearms Control Act,” Mojapelo concluded.
